Vaginal Revitalization Q & A
What is the Juliet laser?
The Juliet laser is a painless and noninvasive way for women to address discomfort in the most intimate of areas. The laser therapy isn’t just an aesthetic treatment. While it does tighten the internal vaginal walls, it can also provide functional changes in your vagina, strengthening and revitalizing the tissue.
When you have healthy vaginal walls, you feel more sensation during intercourse and have tissue that self-lubricates, which prevents uncomfortable itching and dryness. Stronger tissue is also less likely to be susceptible to stress urinary incontinence.
How does the Juliet laser work?
The Juliet laser involves the application of gentle laser energy with a special, sterilized vaginal probe. Dr. Krol applies this energy to internal and external vaginal tissue. The gentle light energy stimulates the production of new collagen, a skin-strengthening compound essential to healthy tissue.
The Julie laser has a special Erbium:YAG wavelength that allows it to reach the submucosal layers as well as the obvious outer layers. The laser does not cause damage to surrounding tissue.
Who is a candidate for treatments with the Juliet laser?
The Juliet laser helps any woman who’s experiencing unpleasant vaginal symptoms and wants to avoid surgery. Consider Juliet laser treatment if:
- You’re going through menopause
- You experience unpleasant vaginal symptoms in the postpartum period
- You have had chemotherapy or surgery for cancer
- You have pelvic floor diseases
Also, consider the Juliet laser if you want more sensation during sexual intercourse.
Does treatment with the Juliet laser hurt?
Most women find treatments with the Juliet laser to be painless. It requires no anesthesia. If you are concerned about sensation, talk to Dr. Krol about applying a mild topical numbing cream prior to treatment.
When will I see results?
You may notice results immediately after the first treatment. As collagen develops and your tissue health continues to improve, you’ll notice further improvements in the month following treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
In most cases, one treatment is enough to provide you with the tissue-strengthening results you want. In some cases, Dr. Krol may recommend a second treatment after a few weeks to maintain your results.
